Shakes pancakes

Just like the online programme, The Fast 800 shakes recipes reflect the principles of the scientifically-proven Mediterranean diet. They’ve got natural ingredients that keep you fuller for longer and support gut health.

The basis of your diet should comprise whole foods, with shakes incorporated during times when you need a bit of extra convenience. If you’re using them on a fasting day, you can just add water to the shakes powder and it takes the thinking out of a meal.

The Fast 800 team like to use shakes on non-fasting days also because they’re so full of nutrition. The recipes below are a collection of ideas using the powder as a base and adding in a few extra Mediterranean-stye ingredients to make a non-fasting day meal.

These recipes have been made using the UK shakes. The nutritional information for the Australian products are slightly different however, they can be interchangeable.


Cinnamon Chai

Coconut Cinnamon Chai

Serves: 1   Calories per serve: 257

Ingredients
50g The Fast 800 Coconut Shakes Powder
250ml unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cardamom

Method
In a small pot over medium heat, whisk milk, shakes powder and spices together for 4-5 minutes or until desired temperature is reached. Serve in a mug and sprinkle over extra cinnamon.


Turmeric Latte

Serves: 1   Calories per serve: 258

Ingredients
50g The Fast 800 Coconut Shakes Powder
250ml unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp turmeric
¼ tsp black pepper

Method
In a small pot over medium heat, whisk milk, shakes powder and spices together for 4-5 minutes or until desired temperature is reached. Serve in a mug and sprinkle with extra turmeric.

Turmeric latte

The Fast 800 Iced Cappuccino

Iced Cappuccino

Serves: 1   Number of calories: 254

Ingredients

50g The Fast 800 Coffee Shakes Powder
200ml unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp cacao powder
ice

Method

  1. Blitz milk, shakes powder and ice until smooth.
  2. Serve immediately and sprinkle over cacao.

Chocolate Mousse

Serves: 1 Calories per serve: 406

Ingredients

70 ml full fat milk
50 g The Fast 800 Chocolate Shake
1 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder
10 g chia seeds
½ tsp vanilla extract
100 g full fat plain Greek yoghurt
25 g raspberries

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the milk, shake powder, cacao powder, chia seeds and vanilla. Leave to sit at room temperature for 5 minutes, then give mixture another good stir.
  2. Transfer mixture into a serving glass and cover with glad wrap. Refrigerate for least 1 hour.
  3. Once mousse is set, serve topped with yoghurt and berries.

Ingredients

50g The Fast 800 Coffee Shakes Powder
200ml unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  1. In a small pot over medium heat, whisk milk, shakes powder and vanilla together for 4-5 minutes or until desired temperature is reached.
  2. Serve in a mug and sprinkle over cinnamon.

Shakes pancakes

Strawberry Pancakes

Serves: 2   Calories per serve: 407

Ingredients

40g (1.4 oz) almond meal
100g (3.5 oz) The Fast 800 Strawberry Shake
1 large free-range egg
125ml (4.4 fl oz) full fat milk
60g (2 oz) strawberries
2 tbsp full fat yogurt

Method

  1. In a bowl, combine the almond meal and strawberry shakes powder, whisk in your egg and milk to form the batter – there should not be any lumps, if it is too thick add a splash of water.
  2. In a non-stick frypan, over a medium-low heat, pour in a portion of your batter (should make 4 pancakes in total). After about 2 minutes, the top of the pancake should start to form bubbles and dry, flip and cook for a further minute. Depending on your frypan you may need a dash of oil to stop the pancakes from sticking.
  3. Serve 2 pancakes per person and top with the strawberries and a tablespoon of yogurt per serve.

The Fast 800 Hot Chocolate

Serves: 1   Calories per serve: 283

Ingredients

250 ml unsweetened almond milk
50 g The Fast 800 Chocolate Shake
2 tsp cacao powder
¼ tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. Whisk together all ingredients in a small pot over medium heat.
  2. Warm for 2-3 minutes or until it reaches your desired temperature (do not boil mix). Gently whisk while heating to remove any lumps.
  3. Pour hot chocolate into a mug and serve immediately.
